Abstract : | The aim of the study was to examine the contents of total phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium and sulphur and their distribution in type-differentiated 30 arable soil profiles on the Siedlce Upland (Dystric Cambisols, Haplic Luvisols, Stagnic Luvisols, Endogleyic Cambisols). In the investigated soils a variation was observed in the total content of phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium and sulphur in particular soil profiles and genetic horizons in these profiles. The content of the macroelemens could be presented in the order of decreasing values (g kg-1): in Dystric Cambisols and Haplic Luvisols Ca (9.97-13.6) > Mg (2.55-3.84) > K (2.13-2.68) > P (0.238-0.353) > Na (0.130-0.163) > S (0.076-0.103); in Stagnic Luvisols, and Endogleyic Cambisols Ca (2.00-3.75) > K (1.13-3.17) > Mg (1.06-2.76) > P (0.235-0.344) > Na (0.103-0.121)> S (0.093-0.106). The highest values of P, Ca, Mg and Na were determined in Dystric Cambisols, K – in Stagnic Luvisols, and S – in Endogleyic Cambisols. Profile distribution of analysed elements was differentiated by geological and soil forming processes, and anthropogenic activities (including agricultural). The highest content of P and S were determined in the humus horizons, K – in the enriched horizons, Ca, Mg, and Na – in the parent rock ones. Statistical analysis proved significant correlations (positive and negative) between N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S, and influence of some properties of soils (pH, Corg, CEC, clay fraction) on the accumulation and distribution of analysed macroelements in investigated soil profiles. |
